About Me:
After graduating from Union College in Schenectady, New York with a BA in English, I moved back downstate and took a job as a paralegal in the City. I knew pretty early on that the job wasn't for me. Luckily enough, my roommate and I saw an ad during halftime of a Jets game for a NYC teaching program. Both of us decided to give it a go. Best decision I ever made.

I taught high school English at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx while working towards my MA in Education from Manhattanville College. Once I got my degree, my wife and I moved down to Washington, D.C., where I found work teaching in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Since 2010, I've been teaching Literature and Journalism at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. I've also been fortunate to serve as staff adviser for Blair's incredible Silver Chips student newspaper. If you feel like supporting student journalism is something you can get behind, please consider checking out their work.

In 2020, I returned to graduate school, this time pursuing a masters degree in creative writing. Full time job, three young children, a pandemic, and grad school. No sweat.
