Publishing News:

After three long years of edits and wracking my brain about how to write a love story, I finally "stuck the landing" with Nighthawks. This one was awarded an honorable mention in the 94th Annual Writer's Digest Short Story competition and will published with the outstanding folks at the McNeese Review later this year.

KUTZ 95.7 radio in Sacramento has selected my story Bank On It to be featured on their program TELL ME A STORY

Book Recs:

Ian McEwan's "All We Can Know" lived up to the hype. Perhaps I'm partial to the plot because it involves literary academics seeking out a mysterious long-lost manuscript. Still, the narrative shift in part two works so expertly to pull together the point of the novel that it's hard not to be impressed.

As I was reading I couldn't help but be reminded of "But What If We're Wrong?" by Chuck Klosterman (a favorite of my Lit students).
